mf what

why you hating on Linux?

I think this uses a game engine, so it's likely there's some nonsense behind the scenes, game engines sadly often make for more power demanding games.

Just, add a few more levels and this can be an enourmously sucessful Steam release!

Not all that bad, but i somewhat dislike the obscene popularity of game engines, since they can often make your tiny game gigantic in size, run really slowly and are at times hard to use.  I'm not against Construct 3, and was quite surprised it had C# and JavaScript since i thought it was visual coding only, but most of the time people who go straight for Unity or whatnot just haven't tried anything else. Another point to make, is that you don't as much learn programming, as you do the odd quirks of the game engine itself, which means you might be able to make games, but you're limiting your knowledge. Though you did say you've only been doing gamedev for about 3 months, so sorry if any part of this made you a bit sad :I

oh... Construct 3

whoah! "draw" calls! that makes me somewhat curious what programming language or whatnot you used for the game :0

it's surprisingly fun! sure, i wouldn't be doing this in my spare time, but i like it! you missed an amazing opportunity for some screenshake, but did do a 4 colour palette! game mechanics, pretty nice, though there's not a tutorial and that's most likely the reason i never spotted the "multi-purpose button thing". i did figure out to pick up sticks and craft spikes though! :D

Quick note: don't mark your game compatible with Linux when it's really not. Okay, with that said, quick run through my ratings. It's somewhat fun, though clicking, being the only thing to do in this game (other than moving a bit to defeat the final boss) gets boring. The graphics are great, and the game mechanics are obviously very dull. Though, i like text in the level that tells what to do, so thanks for that, 5 stars for intuitiveness!

crap, i'm seeing this way too late. you could've submitted whatever you had, it still could have been 3 stars or whatnot

so, quick run through my rating. 3 stars for fun, since platformers are way too common. game juice, 2 points since the game feels alright, and controls aren't slippery. graphics, a solid 4 - it looks great, yet the sizing is an odd mixed bag. there are no clever game mechanics, it's a platformer. as for intuitiveness, your genre saves you - everyone knows what to do and how to play.

yeah, figured 3 days (plus the cut time since it started at midnight) was unreasonable
